Zachery B. Roth

Zachery Roth counsels clients in the technology and gaming industries on legal and regulatory matters throughout the product lifecycle, with experience spanning privacy, intellectual property, contract drafting/negotiation, consumer protection and competition. His practice focuses on helping clients navigate the complex and evolving legal frameworks that shape innovative products, services and business models.

Zach has substantial experience serving as outside product counsel to leading global technology companies. In that role, he works closely with cross-functional teams to identify and navigate legal and regulatory issues, assess risk, and develop practical solutions that advance product and business objectives. He regularly advises on matters involving novel or evolving legal questions under U.S. law, and he works closely with trusted local counsel to solve issues affecting client operations in markets across Europe, Asia and Latin America. 

Zach leads large-scale, multijurisdictional compliance reviews on behalf of online software platforms, including nationwide analyses of professional and occupational licensing requirements, advertising restrictions and other state and federal regulatory obligations.

Additionally, Zach counsels clients on the rapidly evolving laws governing online sports wagering, i-gaming and daily fantasy sports. He advises technology and gaming companies on licensing, advertising, platform design, terms and conditions and other issues associated with entering and operating in highly regulated markets. He has successfully assisted vendors and suppliers in obtaining state gambling licenses and registrations in multiple jurisdictions. 

While in law school, Zach served as Managing Editor of the Temple Law Review. He also served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Thomas I. Vanaskie of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Honorable M. Faith Angell of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

• Serves as product counsel to a global technology company, advising cross-functional product, engineering, business development and operations teams on product development, launches, growth initiatives, strategic partnerships and regulatory compliance. 
• Advises on U.S. and European legal and regulatory issues affecting technology products, including consumer protection, privacy, competition, intellectual property and marketing matters.
• Led large-scale, 50-state regulatory reviews involving professional and occupational licensing and advertising requirements across dozens of industry verticals, and advised on implementing those requirements within an online platform.
• Counseled a technology company on federal and state compliance requirements associated with the nationwide rollout of an online advertising platform in a highly regulated industry. 
• Advised technology and gaming companies on licensing and regulatory requirements applicable to online sports wagering, i-gaming and daily fantasy sports, including business-partner licensing and advertising compliance.
• Assisted vendors and suppliers in obtaining sports wagering and i-gaming licenses and registrations in multiple jurisdictions.
• Counseled higher education institutions on regulatory compliance issues involving online programs and executive compensation
