The Shield Surrounding Online Retailers: An Update on the Prime Strategies Utilized by Cyber Stores to Deflect Accountability
Chris Konzelmann will present at the National Association of Subrogation Professionals (NASP) Annual Conference. His presentation, "The Shield Surrounding Online Retailers: An Update on the Prime Strategies Utilized by Cyber Stores to Deflect Accountability," examines how the multi-billion dollar online marketplace industry continues to strongly resist responsibility for defective products that injure people and damage property.
The presentation will review the online retailer business model, the legal defenses the industry traditionally asserts to defeat product liability claims, and very recent court decisions that directly impact the viability of legal claims when a product is sold over the internet and the product distributor and manufacturer are located overseas and not subject to legal process.
Chris also serves as the Co-Chair of the Litigation Skills Conference Committee. This presentation marks his fifth time presenting at the annual conference.
