OVERVIEW

Melanie Stevenson is an Associate in the Commercial Litigation Department and a member of the Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith Practice Group with a unique dual background in law and nursing. She brings extensive experience in insurance litigation in state and federal courts, civil litigation, and regulatory compliance. Known for her skill in navigating administrative procedures and investigations, Melanie consistently advances client goals while strengthening organizational protocols.

Her legal experience spans counseling insurers on liability, beneficiary disputes, regulatory developments, and data privacy clients on compliance under GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other state privacy laws. She has drafted data protection agreements, consumer-facing privacy notices and policies, and litigation materials. Earlier in her career, she served as lead counsel for a major insurance carrier, where she directed a team of attorneys and operations staff, led national paperless-workflow initiatives, and achieved outstanding client satisfaction ratings.

Melanie has also built a strong clinical foundation as a registered nurse in critical care and neonatal intensive care units, where she was recognized for her calm leadership, patient advocacy, and crisis-management skills.

Melanie holds degrees in political science and journalism, nursing, and law—with honors throughout—and is licensed to practice law and nursing in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
