OVERVIEW

James (Jim) Carlon is a Partner in the Real Estate and Finance Practice Group focusing on commercial real estate transactions throughout the United States. He represents developers in construction and permanent financing, acquisitions, sales and other sophisticated transactions, as well as commercial real estate owners and tenants in lease transactions. Jim also has years of experience helping clients with diverse commercial real estate asset transactions, such as office developments, retail property and apartment complexes.

Jim was elected Commissioner on the Town of Weston, CT Planning and Zoning Commission (2013-Present) Board Member: he is a former member of the Fairfield County Bar Association (2014-2018) and recipient of the 2012 Advocate of the Year for pro-bono legal service to the Young Adult Institute, New York, NY. For five years, Jim served as an officer in the United States Army Reserve, Judge Advocate General’s corps. where he earned three Army Commendation Medals for meritorious service. He received his honorable discharge in 2019.

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS

Prior to joining the firm, Jim has worked on the following matters:

  • Represented national REIT in the acquisition of numerous parcels of improved and unimproved land for the development and redevelopment of multifamily apartment projects

  • Represented international reinsurance company in over 200,000 square feet of leasing transactions for a trophy asset in Fairfield County, CT

  • Served as national leasing counsel to an international perfume manufacturer and retailer

  • Represented purchaser on the $15,000,000 acquisition of a multi-tenant office building in Stamford, CT

  • Represented purchaser of legacy A&P supermarket assets following the company’s liquidation
