PRACTICES
OVERVIEW
John Angus (“Gus”) McKenzie is an Associate in the Commercial Litigation practice group, where he represents insurance companies in coverage litigation and provides strategic claim advice. He has experience in a broad range of business litigation matters, including representing clients in consumer and class action litigation. Gus advises clients on matters related to high‑stakes disputes, regulatory issues, and government investigations, offering practical and strategic counsel informed by years of work at major national law firms.
Gus is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, where he served as associate editor of The University of Pennsylvania Journal of Constitutional Law. He also worked as a student counselor at the Penn Carey Law School Entrepreneurship Legal Clinic and earned a Certificate in Management from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
Gus’s practice is also shaped by a strong public sector background. While in law school, Gus served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Steven J. Dwyer on the Washington State Court of Appeals. Prior to law school, Gus spent nearly three years with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts, working as a paralegal in the Health Care Fraud unit.
