Craig O’Neill has a broad range of experience in construction and surety law, complex insurance coverage and general commercial litigation. For over 20 years, Craig has litigated matters within the construction industry in both state and federal court — including breach of contract claims, delay and disruption claims, defective design claims and mechanics’ lien claims — on behalf of project owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, sureties and design professionals. Craig regularly drafts and negotiates construction contracts and advises clients on construction contract management, administrative issues and best practices. He also works extensively with surety clients on a wide array of matters, including the defense of payment and performance bond claims and claims to enforce indemnity agreements.

Craig also frequently counsels insurance company clients on complex coverage issues under general liability policies and other lines of coverage. He has extensive experience representing insurers in coverage litigation involving construction defect claims, environmental pollution, asbestos and other hazardous substances. His broad litigation experience helps him to examine and understand issues from multiple vantage points.

Prior to joining the firm, Craig was with a regional law firm where he gained valuable experience handling construction disputes, commercial litigation and professional liability matters on behalf of design professionals. Craig’s practice now focuses primarily on construction and surety law, complex insurance coverage matters and other commercial litigation.
