White and Williams Obtains Favorable Settlement in Electrical Fire Case

In December of 2010, a fire occurred at a home in Shillington, Pennsylvania. White and Williams’ investigators determined that the cause of the fire was electrical in nature and started due to the installation of an improperly sized dimmer switch. Thereafter, White and Williams lawyers, led by Bill Schmidt, a partner in the Subrogation Department, filed suit against the electrician who installed the dimmer switch. During mediation of the matter, our attorneys took an aggressive stance and, ultimately, resolved the case favorably by settling the insurer’s subrogation claim for an amount in the mid six-figures.
