Leak in Temporary Roof at School Leads to Six-Figure Settlement

The Subrogation Department recently addressed a situation where the temporary roof at a New Jersey school leaked and caused damage to the school’s auditorium. The roof replacement work was purchased pursuant to a cooperative purchasing arrangement and the contracting company subcontracted the work to a local contractor.

Partner Bill Schmidt, assisted by Counsel Joe Kuffler and Associate Steve Tull, aggressively pursued the subcontractor. Ultimately, they were able to settle the matter, pre-suit, for the sum of $800,000.
