Wes Payne Elected Vice Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association

Partner Wes Payne was elected as Vice Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association (PBA). Wes will serve as Vice Chancellor of the Association in 2020, Chancellor-Elect in 2021, and Chancellor in 2022.

Wes serves on several pro bono and civic boards and is active in various legal organizations, holding leadership positions with many of them. He previously served on the Board of Governors of the Philadelphia Bar Association from 2006–2015 as a member, assistant treasurer and treasurer. For the last two years, he has served as a non-voting member on the Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania Bar Association as the Zone 1 Governor.

Wes is also president of the Bethesda Project, a past president of the Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network and past co-president of the Philadelphia Diversity Law Group. He is Chair of the firm's Diversity Committee, Co-Chair of the Pro Bono Committee and Chair of the firm's Homeless Advocacy Group.

Wes has over 30 years of experience representing insurance carriers and insureds in first and third-party litigation. He has substantial courtroom experience, trying a number of high exposure cases in various jurisdictions throughout the country to jury verdict and through appeal in state and federal courts.

Wes was recognized by the Pennsylvania Defense Institute (PDI) as the 2019 Defense Attorney of the Year. He also received a Judge Pro Tempore Award from the Civil Trial Division of the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania for outstanding service and performing "above and beyond the call."
