Jay was a part of this year’s class of honorees, which included judges and other esteemed alumni and faculty members. In addition to his induction, Jay presented remarks about long-time faculty member Lewis R. Katz, the John C. Hutchins Professor of Law at the law school.

The Society of Benchers was established in 1962 to honor alumni and non-alumni who make outstanding contributions to their communities and the legal profession and manifest an interest in the progress of the law school. Members of the Society are expected to provide assistance, counsel, and leadership to the Dean, the President of the University, and the Law Alumni Association. The Society remains an active force in promoting excellence in legal education.
