Megan represents insurance companies in a wide variety of litigation and pre-suit coverage matters with an eye towards effectively resolving complex claims while assisting her clients in successfully meeting broader strategic objectives.

OVERVIEW

Megan handles insurance coverage matters on behalf of domestic and foreign insurance companies involving a variety of complex claims, including mass casualty loss, pharmaceutical drug recalls, environmental and pollution claims, automobile recalls, and asbestos claims. She acts as monitoring counsel for state court litigations across the country and Multi-District Litigation in federal court. Megan protects the interests of her clients in analyzing sophisticated insurance coverage issues and advising on strategic decisions to avoid bad faith claims from insureds.

Additionally, Megan counsels higher education institutions on employment matters, regulatory compliance, contract review, policy drafting, liability risk and preventative measures. She has an in depth understanding of the laws that impact educational institutions, including Title VII, Title IX, VAWA, the Campus SaVE Act, the Clery Act, NYS Education Law Article 129-B, the ADA and FERPA. Megan regularly conducts trainings for investigators of discrimination claims and has acted as an impartial investigator herself on behalf of institutions. She also has experience defending liability claims related to alleged sexual assaults and harassment.

Megan has advocated on behalf of her clients in both the First and Second Department Appellate Divisions in New York as part of her experience defending corporations and educational institutions in a variety of civil and commercial litigation matters involving education law, civil rights law, general liability and premises liability.

Megan frequently performs with the New York City Bar Association and New York Inn of Court as a Continuing Legal Education presenter in educational musicals on topical legal issues. She also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Exhale to Inhale, a nonprofit that works to empower survivors of interpersonal violence.
