Christian Singewald is a litigator who focuses his practice on defending national and international companies in environmental/toxic tort, product liability, professional malpractice and business/corporate disputes.  As a litigator, Chris works to successfully resolve lawsuits for his clients through aggressive litigation, mediation, negotiation, arbitration and trial. 

In his complex civil litigation practice, Chris has successfully defended manufacturers, distributors and suppliers of automobiles, airplanes, chemicals, drugs, household products, industrial equipment and medical devices.  Chris has tried numerous cases to verdict and argued appeals before the Delaware Supreme Court. 

During law school, Chris served as Executive Articles Editor for The John Marshall Journal of Computer and Information Law. 

Representative Matters

  • Defense verdict of automobile manufacturer in brake failure/airbag deployment trial
  • Defense verdict of mechanical contractor in industrial pump/lid failure trial
  • Defense verdict of hospital in medical negligence trial
  • Successfully orchestrated consolidated motion practice to secure dismissal of over 35 asbestos lawsuits by one Superior Court ruling
  • Successfully argued no duty to warn as to component part liability under Delaware law for automobile manufacturer
  • Successfully argued for application of another state’s substantive law on punitive damages claim based on location of alleged wrongful corporate conduct in product liability, wrongful death case
  • Successfully argued summary judgment for hospital on Plaintiff’s claim for loss of chance of survival
  • Serve as coordinating counsel for international corporation in defense of asbestos lawsuits
  • Advisor in developing nationwide strategies in defense of asbestos lawsuits 

Recognition & Involvement

Chris also volunteers his time to various community organizations.  He is presently President of the Board of Directors for the DuPont Country Club and is past Vice-President of the Alapocas Maintenance Corporation.  Chris is married with two children who he enjoys coaching in their various sporting activities.
