White and Williams Transitions Leadership Positions

2010

Cellucci Officially Assumes Managing Partner Role
Santelle Becomes Firm's First Female Department Chair
Davis joins Executive Committee
Venditta Becomes Chair of Operations Committee

Patti Santelle succeeds Cellucci as Chair of White and Williams' 68-lawyer Commercial Litigation Department. Santelle, who also will continue to lead the firm's Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith Practice Group, is the firm's first female department chair. She has been a member of the firm's Executive Committee since 2008 and will continue to be a member in her new role.

Santelle's practice includes the representation of insurance companies in coverage actions in both state and federal courts, alternative dispute resolution proceedings, and claims strategy. She is a frequent speaker at industry seminars, and in 2005-2010, was selected in a survey of her peers as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer by Law & Politics magazine.

Tim Davis, partner in the Business Department, was appointed to fill an open position on the Executive Committee. Davis' practice includes the representation of financial institutions and investors in a wide variety of real estate transactions, including mortgage loans, mezzanine loans, senior-subordinate participations, "B" notes and other co-lender and inter-creditor arrangements. He also handles a number of complex workouts of defaulted loans and the acquisition and disposition of discounted or distressed real estate positions.

According to Cellucci, "Patti and Tim are both proven leaders in their respective practices and we are thrilled and confident that they will succeed in their newly appointed roles."

In addition, Elizabeth Venditta succeeds Robert Kargen as Chair of the Operations Committee. The Operations Committee is responsible for establishing and overseeing the policies relating to the financial operation of the firm.

Venditta also serves as Chair of the Life, Health, Disability and ERISA Practice Group. She has a broad range of experience in complex insurance coverage litigation and bad faith, but concentrates her practice on the vigorous defense of life, health and disability claims and particularly the defense of insurers and employers in ERISA litigation involving benefit denial, fiduciary liability and related issues.

"As Liz has been an active member of the Operations Committee for many years, this appointment is a natural extension of her involvement, and we're pleased to have her as our Chair," said Cellucci.
