Vince Barbera Elected 2018 Chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association Young Lawyers Division

Vince Barbera, an associate in the General Commercial Litigation Group, was officially introduced as 2018 Chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division, with his one-year term beginning on January 1, 2018.

The YLD Executive Committee manages and directs the business and activities of the YLD's more than 2,900 members, including oversight of 20 committees in the areas of public service, law-related education and service to the legal community. 

The YLD is very active in both the law community and the city of Philadelphia. Throughout the year, members of the YLD are involved in numerous committees to develop programs that help children, the elderly, the disadvantaged, and many more.

Vince is thrilled to welcome into the fold this year the Senior Lawyers’ Committee and YLD Mentoring Program, which promises to provide participants with invaluable advice and counsel.

“We will once again devote our time and talent to vitally important efforts to provide access to justice by supporting the Philadelphia Bar Foundation and spearheading expungement clinics in our community,” said Barbera.

Vince will continue the YLD’s many stalwart annual events and programs, including Law Week, Legal Line and Bootcamp. He will also serve as Chair of the Community Outreach Committee, coordinating volunteer service projects in the Philadelphia region, including the annual Law Week events.

Vince represents businesses of all sizes and pursuits, as well as individuals, in the litigation of commercial and business disputes in court and through arbitration. The diverse nature of Vince's practice provides him with a unique perspective when advising and counseling clients towards reaching the best and most cost-effective resolution to their legal issue.

He focuses his practice on prosecuting claims and defending clients in a wide variety of business litigation matters, including actions involving partnership and shareholder disputes, restrictive covenant enforcement and defense, intellectual property disputes, real estate disputes, professional liability claims, defamation actions, lender liability and consumer protection law claims, unfair competition and other business torts, judgment enforcement/collection and various contract-based disputes.

In addition to his YLD service, Vince is a member of the Board of Governors of the Justinian Society and provides pro bono legal services through Philadelphia VIP and Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts.
