Trade Mission to China: Gary Biehn Joins Mayor Nutter and Philadelphia Delegation
Gary Biehn, Chair of the China Business Group, will be part of a Philadelphia delegation, led by Mayor Michael Nutter, traveling to the Sister City of Tianjin, China. The purpose of the trip is to promote business in the Philadelphia region, particularly in the healthcare, education and clean technology industries. Other organizations represented include the Philadelphia Orchestra, Fox Chase Cancer Center, Drexel University, the China Partnership of Greater Philadelphia and Ben Franklin Technology Partners.
For more than a dozen years, White and Williams has advised U.S. investors, companies and institutions in structuring strategic commercial relationships in China. To support those efforts, the firm has established strategic alliances with the Shanghai-based Xue Law Firm and Tianjin-based Winners Law Firm. While in Tianjin, White and Williams and Winners will sign a restated Strategic Alliance at a signing ceremony on December 2nd. The original alliance was signed in Philadelphia in February and witnessed by Mayor Nutter. The alliance will expand the focus of cooperation in the areas of clean-technology, including the further development of commercial protocols for the protection of intellectual property jointly developed between U.S. and China companies and institutions.
