Managing Partner Patti Santelle was interviewed by Law360 regarding Philadelphia’s growing presence in the legal market. Industry experts say the city's deep bench of legal talent and competitive rates as compared with the nearby legal epicenters of New York and Washington, DC, have helped make it an increasingly attractive place to do business in recent years.

Patti cites the region's diverse and stable economy as a major motivator for firms to look to make inroads in the city.

"In addition to the legal talent base, the Philadelphia region offers a lot of potential opportunity for law firms as [it serves as] the headquarters of so many leading health care, education and technology businesses, as well as a hub for entrepreneurs and emerging businesses," she said.

"The Philadelphia legal market in general is very strong right now," Patti continued. "Firms that are located elsewhere are very interested in growing in a market that is projected to stay strong for some time, which makes firms located in Philadelphia attractive to other healthy firms looking to grow geographically."

Legal professionals expect Philadelphia to continue to be a hotbed of activity both in terms of potential mergers and as a new destination for out-of-town firms.
