Josh Mooney Comments on Coverage Implications for EU Privacy Shield

The new data transfer mechanism recently agreed to by European and U.S. officials will have companies scrutinizing their insurance policies to ensure they are protected against legal exposure and could spur insurers to roll out new products to fill gaps in coverage. 

Josh Mooney, co-chair of the Cyber Law and Data Protection Group, was interviewed by Law360 regarding the potential impact of the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield. Josh says, "Policyholders will want to ensure that their cybersecurity policies provide coverage for regulatory proceedings and regulatory enforcement actions, which often is separate from traditional data breach coverage."
