David R. Zaslow Receives the F. Karl Schauffele Community Service Award From the Main Line Chamber of Commerce
David R. Zaslow, managing partner of White and Williams’ Berwyn, Pa. office, and active member of the Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lower Merion and Narberth (VMSC), a/k/a "Narberth Ambulance," was honored with the F. Karl Schauffele Community Service Award on June 16, 2010.
This prestigious award is presented by the Main Line Chamber of Commerce to a person whose efforts and good works have impacted the Main Line or areas around the Main Line in meaningful and significant ways. The award is intended to honor someone whose attributes emulate those of the late F. Karl Schauffele, past President of The Main Line Chamber of Commerce.
Zaslow was honored during a dinner reception at the Desmond Great Valley Hotel & Conference Center in Malvern, Pa.
About the Honoree
Since 1985, Zaslow has been a volunteer member of the VMSC, serving the communities of Lower Merion, Narberth, Conshohocken, West Conshohocken and Radnor, Pa. He has served in almost every operational and administrative position at VMSC. He has been a chief operational officer for over 19 years and on the Board of Directors for over 16 years. After years serving as Vice President of the organization, Zaslow was elected as President of the Board in December 2005.
Even with the responsibility of being the President of the VMSC and being a partner in the Litigation Department at the firm, Zaslow still finds time every week to be on the duty schedule and to respond to emergencies as an Assistant Chief and paramedic for the community. Over the years, Zaslow has responded to thousands of medical and fire / rescue emergencies in the communities served by VMSC and has been credited with saving many lives. He holds over 20 professional emergency medicine and firefighting qualifications.
In the legal realm, Zaslow is a member of the Firm's Healthcare and General Liability Practice Groups. He focuses his practice on litigating complex matters for insurance companies and self-insureds, including disputes involving professional medical and legal liability, civil rights, emergency services and transportation carriers.
