Marcellus Shale Planning Nightmares to Avoid
Monday April 16, 2012  at 7:00 PM
Williamsport High School Auditorium 2990 West 4th Street, Williamsport PA

Have you done some planning for your Marcellus Shale royalties? Ever wonder if you did the right thing? Many of the people we meet with have incorrectly used a limited liability company or a trust resulting in higher taxes. Some have made transfers that they thought were not taxable gifts but in actuality were taxable. Some have been told not to plan at all.  We have seen so many mistakes and errors that we created a program which highlights the most significant mistakes we have seen that can lead to “nightmares” once royalties begin. During this informative 90 minute session we will identify some of the most common planning errors we have seen and discuss what should have been done to avoid these nightmares. If you have done some planning, whether you are sure that you have done the right thing or not, this program will be well worth your time.

Marcellus Shale Tax Issues Seminar
Tuesday April 17, 2012 at 7:00 PM
South Williamsport High School Auditorium, 515 W. Central Avenue, S, Williamsport PA

More than 3,000 people across the Endless Mountains and Northern Tier have packed High School auditoriums for this program over the past 18 months. Here we intend to introduce the problems which Marcellus Shale royalty owners face. Topics addressed include what are exploration companies presently doing in the field, how production estimates have been outpaced by actual activities and how this has affected landowner royalties. The very important issues of federal estate and gift taxes will be addressed, including significant tax opportunities that can save millions of dollars which are slated to expire by the end of the 2012 year. We will discuss why 2012 offers you opportunities to plan which will not likely be available again. We will address what landowners should be doing now to preserve the windfall which a gas lease represents. If you own land in the Marcellus Shale region, you cannot afford to miss this program.

All attendees are entitled to a free consultation with a tax attorney by simply attending a seminar. There is no cost to attend but space is extremely limited and a reservation is required. Details on how to make a reservation will be posted here by March 25, 2012.
