I Fall to Pieces: Investigating Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion in Sprinkler Systems

2020 National Association of Subrogation Professionals Spring Conference (Webinar)
4.23.20

Lian Skaf will co-present at the National Association of Subrogation Professionals (NASP) Spring Conference. His program, entitled "I Fall to Pieces: Investigating Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion in Sprinkler Systems," will cover microbiologically-influenced corrosion (MIC) with certain pipe materials versus others and then identify MIC-related issues with subrogation losses.

In addition, the program will cover the general phenomena of MIC within sprinkler systems and how it can result in water losses. The program will then compare the potential presence of MIC in various piping materials and will look at the roles of installers, maintenance companies, and remediation companies in identifying and addressing potential MIC problems. Finally, the program will address practices for dealing with a MIC-based defense.
