White and Williams Teams up with KYW Newsradio for Fifth Business Breakfast Series

Michael O. Kassak & Ryan J. Udell speak on Intellectual Property Issues

Philadelphia – More than 150 business leaders gathered for a breakfast seminar on Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Philadelphia to learn about intellectual property and how it can impact the bottom line for a business and its brand.

Michael Kassak, partner in the Litigation Department and Chair of the Intellectual Property Group and Ryan Udell, partner in the Business Department and member of the Intellectual Property Group served as panelists for “Your Brand’s Bottom Line: What Every Business Owner Needs to Know about Intellectual Property.” They spoke on a variety of topics including “next steps” for infringement, fraud, irreparable harm and more.

Joining Kassk and Udell were Autumn Bayles, Sr. Vice President of Strategic Operations for Tasty Baking Company; Dr. Peggy Chaudhry, Associate Professor in the Management & Operations Department at Villanova University; Scott Forbes, Vice President of Technology Ventures at GE; and Steve Hurly, Managing Director for Boenning & Scattergood. They shared stories about challenges to protecting their brands, as well as insight into how protecting the brand has helped their companies to succeed.

“Your Brand’s Bottom Line: What Every Business Owner Needs to Know about Intellectual Property” was the fifth in a series of programs where White and Williams and KYW Newsradio have teamed up to bring together hundreds of business leaders to educate, inform and network. Previous topics have included business lending during economic downturns, conducting business in China, navigating the private equity world and successful business succession planning.
