Roopa is experienced in the defense of healthcare professionals and systems in litigation and before numerous Delaware state boards and agencies.

OVERVIEW

Roopa Sabesan handles complex civil litigation, including the defense of physicians, other medical professionals, and healthcare facilities in claims of medical and professional negligence. She also represents healthcare providers before the Delaware Board of Medical Licensure and Discipline, the Delaware Board of Nursing and other state boards and agencies.

Prior to joining White and Williams, Roopa served as a Deputy Attorney General in the Civil Division of the Delaware Department of Justice, where she represented the State of Delaware, and its agencies and officials, litigating a diverse range of actions, including employment matters and civil rights actions, in both state and federal courts.

Roopa is actively involved in several professional and community organizations in Delaware. She is an associate member of the Delaware Board of Bar Examiners, serves as the Secretary for the Delaware Chapter of the South Asian Bar Association, and is a member of the Delaware Law Related Education Center, Inc. She  was also chosen in 2016 to be a Leadership Delaware Fellow, a highly selective program designed to recruit and mentor young leaders in the State of Delaware.
