OVERVIEW
Andrew Blacker represents clients in matters of insurance coverage and commercial litigation.
Before joining White and Williams, Drew represented a national insurance carrier in various types of coverage litigation including claims arising from automobile accidents, property damage, fire and premises liability. Drew investigated first and third-party fraudulent insurance claims and litigated a number of those matters through arbitration and/or trial throughout the state of Pennsylvania.
Prior to entering civil practice, Drew served as an Assistant District Attorney with the Major Trials Division of the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. During his time there, he was responsible for prosecuting a wide array of felony jury and waiver trials, ranging from attempted murder, non-fatal shootings and firearms offenses, to complex narcotics investigations. His extensive litigation experience also included leading investigations utilizing the Philadelphia Indicting Grand Jury for cases involving witness intimidation.
During law school, Drew completed an externship with the Temple Legal Aid Office representing indigent clients in family law matters including adoption, custody disputes and spousal support. He also presided over landlord-tenant disputes as a certified mediator with the Philadelphia Housing Court Clinical.
