Hyun Wook (Vincent) Shin represents domestic and foreign D&O, E&O and professional liability insurers in complex coverage matters and defense disputes. Vincent has particular experience in securities class action and derivative claims, as well as foreign and domestic government investigations.
Prior to joining White and Williams, Vincent was a counsel and consultant at one of the Big 4 accounting firms where he assisted principals and senior counsel in various tax controversy matters, including resolving tax disputes with the IRS and state and local revenue authorities and in serving multinational strategic buyers in performing due diligence of targets’ tax profile and on closing aspects of multiple mid-market M&A deals.
Recognition & Involvement
During his time at UCLA Law, Vincent worked as a law clerk at two global investment management firms headquartered in Los Angeles where he assisted other in-house counsel in various compliance, securities, and regulatory matters as well as in offering consulting services and analytical products dealing with fund of funds investment vehicles for a global client base. Further, at UCLA Law, Vincent was the co-chair of the Asian Pacific Islander Law Student Association and the managing editor of the Asian Pacific American Law Journal. Additionally, Vincent has experience in working at an international investment bank and at an international law firm in Singapore.
