Michael Goldwasser represents domestic and foreign insurers in connection with coverage issues and disputes arising under directors and officers and other professional liability insurance policies. Michael provides strategic and technical advice on complex coverage issues, including the applicability of policy exclusions and conditions, the duty to defend and/or reimburse defense costs, retention and approval of defense counsel, and allocation. Michael also assists in monitoring underlying litigation in connection with claims and drafts pleadings and motions where coverage litigation becomes necessary.
Prior to joining White and Williams, Michael practiced insurance law at a boutique New York City firm that advised domestic and foreign insurers in connection with professional liability as well as commercial general liability and first-party property claims.
Recognition & Involvement
At Brooklyn Law School, Michael participated in a student-run non-profit corporation that provided free legal representation for claimants regarding unemployment benefits in adversarial hearings before administration law judges at the Department of Labor.
