Michael DiFebbo represents major property and casualty insurance companies in coverage disputes. Michael has twenty-four years of experience focusing on the resolution of coverage claims for long-tail liabilities including environmental cleanups, asbestos and mass tort liability, many of which involve tens or even hundreds of millions of dollars of disputed coverage. He also advises insurance companies on other first- and third-party claims, including business interruption claims related to the ongoing coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic.

A seasoned litigator with over two decades of experience, Michael has litigated issues including allocation of coverage among multiple triggered insurers, enforceability and application of policy exclusions for asbestos and pollution related liabilities, applicability of aggregate limits of liability and defense of allegations of bad faith. Michael also counsels insurance company clients on claims litigation strategy, claims resolution procedures and coverage questions.

As national counsel for his clients, Michael has handled cases in courts across the country, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Ohio and New Mexico.

Michael also has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution proceedings and frequently counsels clients on how to achieve a cost-effective effective resolution of coverage disputes through the use of mediation or arbitration.
