Margo Meta is an associate in the firm's Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith Group. She focuses her practice on the representation of major insurance carriers in matters involving application of policy exclusions and defense of allegations of bad faith. Margo has significant experience representing insurance carriers in first-party and third-party litigation matters. Margo’s work includes advising and defending insurers in insurance coverage, including first party business interruption and civil authority shutdown claims related to the ongoing coronavirus/COVID-19 crisis.
Prior to joining White and Williams, Margo was Associate General Counsel for a national homeowners’ insurance company.
Margo has served on the Executive Board of the Orlando Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction since 2018.
Margo is an active provider of pro bono legal services. In 2018, the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania presented Margo with the Pro Bono Publico Award for her work with Philadelphia VIP, which provides quality volunteer legal services for low-income Philadelphians.
While at Rutgers, Margo competed in the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition. She also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable John E. Jones, III of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
Representative Matters
- Assisted a liability insurer in evaluation of the scope of coverage, if any, available to an insured sued by former students alleging abuse by the insured’s former employee
- Litigated first-party property COVID-19 business insurance claims
- Successfully argued in Superior Court of Passaic County that co-defendant landlord improperly denied tenant's tender request, despite obligation under the lease to undertake defense for incidents occurring in common areas
- Represented a national homeowners’ insurance company in first-party coverage disputes
- Represented manufacturers of alleged asbestos-containing products in toxic tort suits and product liability
