Kim Kocher focuses on appellate advocacy in a wide range of practice areas, including medical negligence, products liability, insurance coverage, premises liability and constitutional law. Kim has briefed and argued appeals in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, New Jersey Supreme Court, Delaware Supreme Court, and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits.

In cases presenting unsettled legal issues or high exposure, Kim initiates the pre-trial development of legal theories and dispositive motions. During the trial itself, Kim pursues motions practice and interlocutory appeals of critical trial court rulings always with an eye towards development of the record for appeal. Post-trial, Kim then shepherds the case through the complex post-trial and appellate processes.

Kim has produced publications, amicus briefs, and presentations on diverse subjects including the admissibility of expert testimony, the legal viability of emotional distress claims, and the fundamentals of appellate practice.

She is co-Vice Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Amicus Curiae Brief Committee, and has previously served as its Chair. She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Appellate Courts Committee.

Before joining White and Williams, Kim clerked for the Honorable Sandra Schultz Newman of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and the Honorable George T. Kelton of the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania.
