Karine focuses her practice on complex civil litigation arising from professional liability, commercial disputes, director and officer disputes, personal injury and employment disputes. Karine defends clients ranging from medical professionals and healthcare systems, to insurance companies, businesses, corporate officers or directors and employers. Her diverse background allows her to continuously develop a unique perspective and approach to problem solving. Karine is committed to understanding the needs of her clients to best offer solutions that fit their individual objectives - may it be early resolution or advocating through trial.

Karine has successfully defended numerous matters from initiation to dismissal, and affirmation at the appellate level, of constitutional 42 U.S.C. § 1983 claims of deliberate indifference in the medical context. She further defends healthcare practitioners and various health systems in actions based on allegations of medical negligence and malpractice and premises liability personal injury complaints. Beyond her work in healthcare defense, Karine defends employers in lawsuits brought by current or former employees and against charges of discrimination before the Delaware Department of Labor and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Karine further represents businesses, officers and directors in matters related to corporate governance, shareholder rights and contractual disputes. These matters require complex analysis of nuanced issues and productive communication and cooperation with clients. Through her extensive legal experience, Karine has appeared before the majority of courts in the State of Delaware including the Court of Common Pleas, Family Court, Superior Court, Court of Chancery, the District Court of State of Delaware as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Prior to joining White and Williams, Karine worked as a domestic practitioner handling various matters related to family law, through which she gained extensive experience handling a high volume of sensitive matters. Prior to practicing law, Karine served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Judge Jeffrey J. Clark of Superior Court in Kent County, Delaware after graduating law school. Throughout her clerkship, Karine was exposed to a variety of litigation including civil disputes, employment discrimination, appeals of agency decisions, and felony level criminal prosecutions – giving her an inside perspective of how the Delaware Courts operate and function.
