Jhonattan focuses his practice on representing a variety of healthcare clients in all stages of litigation. Jhonattan also represents life, health and disability insurers in a wide range of matters. Jhonattan brings a strong work ethic and a collaborative approach, allowing him to secure favorable outcomes for his clients.

Prior to joining White and Williams, Jhonattan served as a law clerk for the Honorable Dennis V. Nieves of the Superior Court of New Jersey, where he drafted judicial opinions, engaged in extensive research and analysis in resolving a variety of civil matters, prepared bench memoranda, and mediated cases.

While in law school, Jhonattan worked at full-service law firm in New Jersey, where he gained extensive experience handling discovery disputes and writing memorandum concerning several areas of law. As an intern at the Waterfront Commission of New York Harbor, Jhonattan collaborated with the General Counsel of the Commission and outside counsel in reviewing the legislative history of the Waterfront Commission Act to determine when a state could unilaterally withdraw from the bi-state agency.

Before law school, Jhonattan interned at Appellate Division of the New Jersey Superior Court, where he advised on how to improve the packet provided to pro se litigants to assist them in filing their appeals. This experience gave him familiarity with the appellate rules and procedures of New Jersey.

Recognition & Involvement

While in law school, Jhonattan assisted the non-profit organization of CASA of Morris and Sussex Counties in researching and preparing a draft amendment to the current NJ State Statute (P.L. 2009.c.c.217) to expand the role of the organization’s advocates. Jhonattan was previously involved with CASA as a volunteer, where he served as an advocate for a five-year-old boy in the foster care system.

Jhonattan was an Articles Editor for the Rutgers Business Law Review. As a staff editor on the law review, he wrote an article on the application of the business judgment rule in litigation involving merger and acquisition deals that was selected for publication. Jhonattan competed in the 2019 Rutgers Law School Transactional Competition, which involved the negotiation of an asset purchase agreement. Jhonattan also volunteered in the Make the Road New Jersey’s Citizenship Clinic, where he assisted individuals in the naturalization process, which included completing form N-900, filing for fee waivers, and addressing any legal issues that arose in the process.

As a Maida Public Interest Summer Fellow, Jhonattan interned at Kids in Need of Defense (KIND), where he researched trends in immigration law, drafted memorandum, translated documents and worked with unaccompanied children in the immigration system.
