Jenifer Scarcella is an associate in the litigation department of White and Williams. She has experience representing corporations, banks and other commercial entities in matters involving complex litigation, contractual disputes, construction issues, business tort claims, product liability, misappropriation of trade secret, and premises liability.

Jenifer also focuses her practice on the defense of life, health and disability insurers in ERISA and non-ERISA matters involving insurance coverage disputes, fraud, rescission of policies, declaratory judgment actions, interpleader actions, and bad faith claims. Additionally, she provides major property and casualty insurers and group health insurers with coverage opinions concerning the legal interpretation and effect of policy language.

Prior to joining the firm, Jenifer was an associate at a defense litigation firm where she focused on general litigation and insurance coverage disputes. While in law school, Jenifer served as Senior Notes and Comments Editor of the Journal of International Law and Business. Jenifer is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society. 

Representative Matters

  • Obtained dismissal of all claims in federal diversity action sounding in tortious interference with contract, tortious interference with business advantage, prima facie tort, and breach of contract for expert referral company
  • Achieved summary judgment dismissing action against international bank in case alleging defective condition on bank property
  • Achieved partial summary judgment in fraud action for insurance company on fraud and unjust enrichment claims, in which insured fraudulently obtained disability benefits, and dismissing insured’s counter-claim for future benefits
  • Represented international bank in variety of premises liability, Labor Law, and breach of contract matters

Recognition & Involvement

Jenifer is actively involved in pro bono efforts, including provision of pro bono legal services in connection with the firm's partnership with the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
