Drawing upon her wealth management experience, Franca Tavella primarily focuses her legal practice on individual estate planning, as well as trust and estate administration. Franca works closely with each client to develop an estate plan tailored to his or her specific needs and objectives, and the client's personal and financial situation. In addition, Franca counsels charitable and non-profit organizations on qualification for tax-exempt status.
Franca brings a unique perspective to her estate planning practice, having worked alongside trust administrators, wealth strategists and investment advisors in the administration of trust and investment management accounts, for ultra-high net worth individuals and their families in the wealth management branch of a prominent bank. She is accustomed to working within a team of advisors and takes a holistic approach to estate planning, ultimately resulting in comprehensive and tax-efficient plans for her clients.
Upon graduation from Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law, Franca clerked for the Honorable Matthew D. Carrafiello, Administrative Judge of the Philadelphia Orphans’ Court. As a law clerk, Franca observed and analyzed litigation involving all aspects of decedents' estates, trusts, charitable organizations and guardianships. This background strengthens her ability to anticipate and avoid issues before they arise in the drafting of various estate planning documents, providing her clients with heightened peace of mind.
During law school, Franca participated in a year-long pro bono estate planning clinic for the benefit of low income individuals. Franca also clerked for a boutique trusts and estates firm in Philadelphia, for which she received an award at graduation for outstanding achievement in coursework, experiential learning and scholarship in the field of trusts and estates law.
