Emma is a dual Australian and United States qualified attorney with significant experience across corporate, intellectual property, and privacy and cybersecurity law.
Emma has a broad range of experience in technology sourcing and transactions, licensing, the Internet of Things, privacy policies and cybersecurity risk management. She focuses her practice on structuring, drafting and negotiating technology agreements, including software licensing and development, SaaS, and professional services agreements. She also advises clients on intellectual property and privacy related issues, including GDPR and Privacy Shield requirements, data breach policies and post-breach penalties.
In addition to her technology practice, Emma has significant experience counseling both public and private international and domestic clients on mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance issues. She advises clients on general corporate matters, including shareholder and board of director’s matters, operational agreements such as consulting, licensing, manufacturing, distribution and supply agreements, employment matters and protection of intellectual property rights.
Before joining White and Williams, Emma was a paralegal at Norton Rose Fulbright during law school, and then joined Allen & Overy as an Associate. After attaining her Masters of Law (LLM) in Intellectual Property (Intellectual Property, Innovation and Information), Emma spent a year assisting in the launch of a start-up boutique Manhattan law firm, advising clients on a broad range of international and domestic commercial and corporate issues.
