OVERVIEW

Daryll Hawthorne-Bernardo focuses her practice on complex civil litigation arising from product liability, professional liability, insurance coverage and personal injury. Her diverse legal and scientific knowledge base has allowed her to develop problem-solving skills which provide clients with a unique approach to novel issues. She believes there is a solution to every problem.

Prior to joining White and Williams, Daryll worked as an associate for a Wilmington defense firm representing insurance carriers and self-insureds in cases involving products liability, professional liability, premises liability and motor vehicle and trucking accidents. She was also an associate for a Wilmington IP firm where she drafted various motions and briefs, prepared for oral arguments, participated in mediation, and represented veterans and prisoners in pro bono cases.

During law school, Daryll interned for the Honorable Carol Sandra Moore Wells at the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. There she gained experience reviewing Habeas Corpus petitions and drafting reports and recommendations. Daryll was a summer associate in GlaxoSmithKline’s Global Patents department and a boutique IP firm in Philadelphia gaining experience in patent litigation and prosecution.

Prior to attending law school, Daryll was a clinical and forensic science intern at NMS labs in Willow Grove, PA, and trained as an expert witness.

Daryll is recognized as a Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America 2024 for Product Liability Litigation - Defendants. Daryll was also named a Delaware "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers from 2020-2023.

While in law school, Daryll was a member of the Temple Law National Trial Team, President of both the Black Law Students Association and Student Public Interest Network, and a student member of the Temple Inn of Court. She was awarded the Barrister Award for Trial Advocacy, the Myron H. Deutsch ’60 Memorial Award and the Jacquelyn E. Davis Johnson Success Award. She also served as a Teaching Assistant for Temple’s Integrated Trial Advocacy and Legal Research and Writing programs.
