Carlos Piñeiro brings a wealth of industry and legal experience to his real estate and finance practice. His career has spanned from Commercial Real Estate Loan Officer to VP of Commercial Real Estate Loan Structuring & Underwriting to Chief Legal Officer. Having worked on both sides of many complex transactions, Carlos can craft and recommend strategies that enable clients to achieve their business objectives.

Carlos focuses his practice on commercial real estate finance and securitization matters, including the origination and sale of mortgage and mezzanine loans, participations, syndications, A/B notes, co-lender and intercreditor arrangements, master repurchase facilities, corporate credit facilities, joint ventures, restructurings, workouts and foreclosures. He has broad experience in all aspects of commercial mortgage backed securities (CMBS) and collateralized debt obligations (CDO) transactions, including domestic and offshore private placements under Rule 144A and Regulation S of investment grade and noninvestment grade notes. 

Carlos served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the City University of New York, Brooklyn College where he taught undergraduate courses covering the essentials of real estate finance and management, as well as a basic understanding of the legal and economic aspects associated with real estate valuation, ownership and investment.

Prior to joining White and Williams, Carlos was Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Head of Securitization of a specialty finance company that provided first mortgage loans on all commercial real estate asset classes and originated high-yield whole loans, mezzanine debt and preferred equity.
