White and Williams Obtains Significant Arbitration Award on Behalf of Insurer

April 2015

White and Williams obtained a six-figure arbitration award on behalf of a major insurance company arising out of a contract dispute with a managing general agent over unpaid premiums. Pursuant to the written agreement at issue, the managing general agent was responsible for collecting the premiums due under several of the insurer's policies and then remitting the net premium due to the insurer.  After a dispute arose as to whether the managing general agent had actually remitted to the insurer several large premiums it had collected from multiple policyholders, White and Williams commenced an arbitration proceeding and secured a final award in the insurer’s favor for the full amount due plus applicable interest.
