Seton Company Relies on Broad Experience of White and Williams
White and Williams was lead transaction counsel to Seton Company and its US and foreign affiliates in connection with the negotiation and sale of its worldwide automotive leather business to GST Autoleather, Inc., a portfolio company of Hong Kong-based Advantage Partners, and Johnson Controls, Inc., a Fortune 100 firm, a deal that spanned eight months.
Seton was a leading global supplier of automotive leather interiors to automobile manufacturers in the U.S., Europe and South Africa. The combination with GST Autoleather created the largest automotive seat supplier in the world.
The transaction was complex, due to the international reach of Seton, and required close coordination with counsel, bankers, accountants and business leaders in the United States, China, Japan, Korea, Costa Rica, South Africa, Germany, Hungary and Portugal. The substantive legal areas included corporate law, finance, tax, real estate, intellectual property, international law and regulatory, both foreign and domestic.
