CyberRisk Alliance Acquires MIS Training Institute’s InfoSec World Conference and Expo
White and Williams represented Massachusetts-based MIS Training Institute in its sale of the InfoSec World Conference and Expo to CyberRisk Alliance, a B2B startup who serves the cybersecurity and information-risk management marketplace. This represents the first acquisition for CyberRisk Alliance, which was launched in November 2018 and backed by the private-equity firm Growth Capital Partners.
The InfoSec World Conference and Expo is a 25-year-old show that attracts nearly 1,300 attendees and hosts 10,000 square feet of exhibit space every April. The deal, structured as a carve-out, also includes a series of invitation-only networking, educational forums and marketing services for chief information security officers and senior cybersecurity professionals.
Corporate partner Ryan Udell led the transaction for White and Williams, with assistance from Corporate associates Tarik Abdel-Meguid and Gwenn Barney. Tax partner Bill Hussey and Cyber Law and Data Protection partner Rick Borden also contributed to the transaction.
