Transcending Gender in Modern Healthcare

Healthcare Talks
5.10.17

During this podcast Mimi McNichol, Director of Clinical Operations at Philadelphia FIGHT, and Edward Beitz, a Partner in the Healthcare Group, discuss transgender and gender nonconforming patients in healthcare.

Philadelphia FIGHT began in 1990 as a service organization responding to the need for healthcare for HIV positive patients. Over the next decades, it grew to provide to populations that had been denied access or underserved in the healthcare system. In 2013, Philadelphia FIGHT became federally qualified to serve vulnerable populations. Organizations like Philadelphia FIGHT aim to improve the quality of care for diverse populations while helping physicians learn more about those populations to which they are providing care.
