Wegard D. Holby Counsel

Gard brings 20 years of legal experience to White and Williams. He represents professional liability insurers primarily in the areas of insurance coverage and liability issues arising from shareholder, employment and bankruptcy-related litigation. Gard also works closely with his clients in developing creative resolution strategies for resolving complex claims. Additionally, his practice extends to maritime law and the satellite industry. 

Representative Matters

• Led a team of attorneys in obtaining summary judgment on a complex insurance coverage issue under a directors and officers liability policy
• Won a motion for summary judgment rescinding a directors and officers policy based on material misrepresentations made in an application
• Working closely with a U.S. based professional liability insurer, Gard was successful in resolving a complex coverage litigation matter through a favorable settlement with the insured company and its directors and officers

Recognition & Involvement

Gard is an elected township supervisor in Bridgeton Township, Pa. He also serves on the boards of Scandinavian Seminar, an international educational exchange organization, and the Ajiri Foundation, providing educational opportunities to orphans in western Kenya.
