Sam Albright concentrates his practice on assisting clients with general corporate, transactional and securities matters, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, business formation and intellectual property issues involving trademarks and copyrights. 

With respect to trademarks, he helps clients develop and protect the value of their trademarks and service marks by preparing, filing, prosecuting and maintaining trademark applications and registrations. Sam conducts trademark searches, works with clients to develop trademark protection strategies, negotiates trademark licenses and co-existence agreements and handles opposition and cancellation proceedings.

Prior to law school, Sam worked as a professional saxophonist and music producer, recording and touring with artists such as Isaac Hayes, Roger Daltrey, Cyndi Lauper, The Monkees, The Temptations, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, and Hootie and the Blowfish.  His playing was featured on the motion picture “Music and Lyrics.”

While at Penn, Sam was involved with the Penn Intellectual Property Group and the Entrepreneurship Clinic. 

Sam offers pro bono legal assistance to the Pennsylvania Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts.

Representative Matters

  • Represented international manufacturer in a three-phase multi-national acquisition transaction
  • Represented a product manufacturer in an action to revive a registered trademark that had been cancelled by the USPTO 
  • Represented a food company in numerous issues involving the infringement of valuable trademarks and trade dress
