Peter Samson focuses his practice on medical malpractice and defending universities in a variety of litigation and education law matters, including employment litigation.
In medical malpractice cases, Peter typically represents physician defendants. He represents physicians associated with teaching hospitals and medical schools, such as Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals and Drexel University College of Medicine, as well as physicians insured by major medical professional liability insurance carriers. He has successfully defended lawsuits on behalf of virtually every specialty, including but not limited to, family practice, internal medicine, gastroenterology, general surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, neurology, plastic surgery, dermatology orthopedics, anesthesiology and neurosurgery. He has also assisted in the drafting of consent to treatment and operative consent forms.
In his education law matters, Peter has represented universities in employment related lawsuits, defense of claims of wrongful denial of academic degrees such as doctorates, wrongful discharge from employment and medical residency and claims of inadequate security. He has also assisted the Athletic Department of a major university in appealing rulings by its conference and eligibility decisions of the NCAA.
Peter has taught trial practice and litigation skills extensively for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, Pennsylvania Bar Institute, Pennsylvania Defense Institute and the Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel, of which he is a past President. He chaireed the Hearing Committee for the Disciplinary Board of Pennsylvania for nine years. Peter has also served as an Adjunct Professor for Temple University Law School.
During law school, Peter was the Managing Editor of the New England Law Review.

Peter has been selected in a survey of his peers as a Pennsylvania "Super Lawyer" by Law & Politics magazine for 2004 – 2006 and 2008 – 2011. He is AV® rated by the Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating system.
