Leor Kaplan represents insurers in state and federal courts in coverage actions involving a wide variety of complex coverage issues including rescission, bad faith and allocation. He also serves as coverage and monitoring counsel for primary and excess insurers in coverage matters involving directors and officers liability policies, professional liability policies and general liability policies.  

In addition to handling complex insurance matters, Leor represents employers in cases involving discrimination claims and the enforceability of post-employment restrictive covenants. 

Prior to joining White and Williams, Leor was an associate with Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge where he represented insurers as monitoring counsel and litigated coverage actions in state and federal courts.

During law school, Leor was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society.

Representative Matters

  • Currently representing directors and officers liability insurers in connection with securities class actions and ERISA litigation arising from the subprime crisis
  • Successfully moved to dismiss an action against a large real estate developer alleging civil rights violations and unfair business practices
  • Obtained summary judgment for an excess insurer based on the insured’s failure to fully exhaust its underlying insurance 
  • Obtained summary judgment on the grounds that an entity seeking coverage under his client’s policy did not qualify as an insured
