Craig O’Neill has a broad range of experience in complex insurance coverage, bad faith and general commercial litigation.  He has represented insurers in multi-million dollar cases involving underlying claims alleging environmental pollution and exposure to asbestos and other hazardous substances.  He also has significant experience handling professional liability matters and commercial disputes on behalf of architects, engineers and equipment suppliers.  His practice now focuses primarily on nationwide complex insurance coverage disputes and commercial litigation in state and federal courts, as well as in private arbitrations and mediations. 

Prior to joining the firm, Craig completed an externship with the Honorable Stephen L. Levin of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.  

Representative Matters

  • Represented an insurer in a multi-party insurance coverage litigation involving remediation of environmental contamination at former manufactured gas plants and waste disposal sites in Massachusetts and Rhode Island
  • Prepared coverage opinions for property and casualty insurer regarding rights and obligations under general liability policies in connection with nationwide bodily injury and property damage claims
  • Represented a lending supplier of large equipment for the hydroelectric and water distribution industries in a commercial dispute involving claims of breach of contract and delay damages.
  • Represented an architect and engineering firm at a compulsory arbitration resulting in a defense verdict on claims of professional negligence and breach of contract
  • Prepared and argued a motion for summary judgment on behalf of an engineering firm in Pennsylvania state court action involving a professional liability claim
  • Represented a plaintiff in the trial of a products liability case resulting in a seven-figure jury award against a national ladder manufacturer
