Craig Cohen is an associate in the Subrogation Department and has represented several major insurance companies in the defense of their claims handling, underwriting, regulatory, and actuarial practices.
He has also conducted extensive corporate due diligence investigations and has provided legal counsel on a wide variety of statutory and regulatory compliance issues. In addition, Craig has served as National Coordinating Counsel for one of the largest insurance companies in the country, overseeing and coordinating their class action litigation throughout the United States.
His successes include numerous defense verdicts in matters involving insurer steering, diminished value claims, unfair claims/settlement practices, antitrust, pricing and rate-making, fraud, defamation, and business interruption. He has also successfully negotiated and overseen the claims administration process of several multimillion dollar class action cases in various jurisdictions across the country.
Craig has extensive knowledge of corporate litigation, and in particular, the insurance industry; providing legal representation, consulting and training programs to some of the largest carriers in the world.
Such work has included the review, analysis, and development of corporate Best Claims Practices, Accelerated Claims Excellence (ACE) Procedures, corporate conduct and ethics compliance, new and existing product-line initiatives, statutory and regulatory compliance, market-conduct examinations, agency rate and forms filings, document preservation and retention policies, general corporate governance consulting, litigation reserving and exposure analyses, year-end audit reporting and SEC 10-K Annual Corporate Disclosure Statements.
Craig is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania but practices throughout the country utilizing the services of local counsel under a special program with the subrogation department.
