Christopher Morgan maintains a diverse practice handling civil and commercial litigation matters for both plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state courts.  His practice includes litigating catastrophic loss matters involving substantial economic damages related to construction site liability, truck accident transportation law, dram shop liability and commercial contract disputes.  Chris’s practice also has an emphasis in premises liability, consumer fraud, breach of warranty, and insurance coverage issues.  Through his litigation experience, Chris has developed a proficiency in enforcing the indemnification rights of clients at both the trial and appellate levels. 

Chris also has significant experience in litigating workplace-related discrimination lawsuits based upon age, race, gender, and disability.  His employment litigation experience includes the enforcement of non-compete and restrictive covenants and claims involving federal and state whistle-blower statutes.

Prior to joining White and Williams, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Carol E. Higbee, P.J.Cv. in Atlantic City, where in addition to a full civil docket, he worked on legal issues for the Vioxx, Accutane, and Hormone Replacement Therapy mass torts. 

While in law school, Chris was a member of the winning team of the Hunter Moot Court Competition and interned for the Honorable Anne E. Thompson, U.S.D.J.

Prior to entering the legal profession, Chris worked for several years at an environmental consulting firm.

Representative Matters

  • Successfully enforced the contractual indemnification rights of successor corporation of automated warehouse products by obtaining summary judgment and affirmation on appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit
  • Represented an international engineering/construction services company in a construction site accident case where an ironworker alleged traumatic brain injury after being struck by a knuckle boom crane. Retained ten days before trial with a $10 million demand. Filed five motions in limine, retained and served five expert reports (lifecare, economics, vocational, life expectancy and liability) and joined subcontractor employer for contractual indemnity all within ten days. Case settled for $1.5 million (partially structured and less than half economic damages) after four days of trial.  (Superior Ct. of N.J., Middlesex County)
  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a national retail store on a premises liability claim and successfully defended the matter through appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit
  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a temporary employment agency against the contractual indemnification claims of a national toy retailer for catastrophic personal injury damages of a temporary worker placed by the agency 
  • Represented large restaurant franchisee in a dram shop action in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Middlesex County in which the plaintiff had sustained a traumatic brain injury; secured favorable settlement for the client.
  • Represented regional manufacturer of industrial equipment in wrongful death action in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Ocean County,  in which a garbage disposal system crushed decedent; favorable settlement to client at mediation.
  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of national eye-care chain against products liability claims of plaintiff in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Ocean County and enforced contractual indemnification rights against third-party defendants.
