Court Grants Judgment to Local University in Suit Claiming it Prevented Student from Obtaining a Ph.D.The Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas awarded summary judgment on all but one count to our client in an education-law matter prior to the start of trial. The client, a major local university (and defendant in the case), was involved in a suit where a graduate student alleged the university was preventing him from obtaining a Ph.D. and was acting in bad faith. Following the plaintiff's presentation of his case, the court granted a non-suit, finding no evidence of bad faith on the part of the university, and noting the claimant's failure to follow through on all of the steps required by the university to obtain a Ph.D. Attorneys Peter Samson and Fahim Sayed represented the defendant. |
