Mr. Biehn is a partner in, and Chair of, the Business Department of White and Williams LLP. He focuses on assisting clients in the pursuit of global business opportunities. Mr. Biehn works closely with clients to form and structure ventures between U.S. and strategic partners throughout the world. With over 230 attorneys, White and Williams advises on a broad range of business matters including U.S. and international tax and regulatory compliance, Internet regulation issues such as privacy, security and fair trade practices. Mr. Biehn frequently counsels clients on forming domestic and international commercial relationships, including joint ventures, partnerships and alliances. He represents both public and privately held corporations, including healthcare providers, hospitals, manufacturers, distributors and technology vendors and consultants. Working with a multi-disciplinary team, Mr. Biehn assists clients with comprehensive, strategic, domestic and international planning. His strong relationships with an expanding network of professional advisors throughout the world enables him to help clients to do business and establish ventures abroad. In particular, Mr. Biehn regularly works with advisors in China, and elsewhere in Southeast Asia, to assist businesses in forming strategic partnerships and pursuing business opportunities in the region. Mr. Biehn actively shares his global transactional experiences with interested audiences and frequently speaks on China law issues. He was a delegate of the Trade Mission to China in September 2002 conducted by the City of Philadelphia Commerce Department and the China Trade Center of Philadelphia. Mr. Biehn participated as a panelist at the video conference "Live From Hong Kong" presented by the Association for Corporate Growth in February 2004, and served as Program Co-Chair for the two-day conference "Strategies for Trade and Investment in China" held in Philadelphia on June 14 & 15, 2004. He was a co-organizer and speaker at the May 19, 2005 conference "Exporting to China: Seizing Opportunity and Managing Risk" presented by The Philadelphia U.S. Export Assistance Center, in partnership with the Mid-Atlantic District Export Council. Mr. Biehn served as Moderator for the June 9, 2005 seminar "Hong Kong - Turning China into Opportunity" organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. He participated at the World Trade Center's 36th General Assembly, hosted by the Shanghai World Trade Center, in September 2005. Mr. Biehn moderated a seminar on Hong Kong held at the Wharton School by the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia on March 16, 2006. He served as a panelist on an Executive Roundtable discussion on China and Philadelphia held at the Union League on May 2, 2006 which was co-sponsored by White and Williams. Mr. Biehn was a panelist at "Ten Questions You Should Ask About Doing Business in China...and the Answers!" hosted by Citizens Bank on May 15, 2007. He was a presenter at the First China International Private Equity Forum in Tianjin on June 6-8, 2007. He was also a panelist at The Big Talker 1210 AM's "Global Economic Summit" in Philadelphia, PA on June 28, 2007, which featured a panel of foreign business experts discussing how local companies can expand their businesses by trading overseas. Mr. Biehn is a member of the U.S. Department of Commerce Mid-Atlantic District Export Council. Mr. Biehn received his B.B.A., graduating first in his class, from the School of Business and Management at Temple University in 1981. He received his J.D., with honors, in 1984 from Duke University School of Law. Mr. Biehn is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association. In 2005, 2006 and 2007, he was selected in a survey of his peers as a Pennsylvania "Super Lawyer" by Law & Politics magazine. Mr. Biehn has been AV rated by the Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating system. |
