Ms. Sullivan is a partner in the Business Department and has practiced law in the New York tri-state area for the past twenty years.  She also is a member of the firm's International Law Practice Group. Her practice stretches beyond the borders of the United States as she represents high profile international clients in their cross-border transactional, foreign direct investment, general business counseling and litigation needs. Ms. Sullivan focuses on domestic and international corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, board governance, shareholder rights, securities law, and private equity investments.  She also has extensive experience representing clients in connection with venture capital transactions, corporate restructurings and her corporate clients' varied transactional needs include domestic and international commercial disputes. Her mergers and acquisitions work has led to extensive knowledge of the formation and structure of business interests, acquisition financing, the disposition of business interests (inside and outside the bankruptcy arena) and a wide variety of regulatory matters.

The industries she presently serves are private equity, airline, manufacturing, publishing, service, banking, retail, entertainment, software and real estate.  Her international clients are headquartered, for example, in Northern Europe, including Iceland and the United Kingdom, Australia, and the Middle East.

Ms. Sullivan speaks and writes for leading trade journals and continuing legal education providers.  Recently, she was a panel speaker for the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education ("International Business Transactions") and the Seton Hall International Law Society. She just finished her tenure as the President of the Transatlantic Business Council (www.transatlanticbc.net), an independent not-for-profit organization offering the opportunity to create links between the New Jersey/New York business community and the European community.  As President, in June 2007, she led an executive team on a trade mission to London. She is also currently the secretary of the International Trade Committee of the New Jersey Bar Association, a recent former member of the Board of Trustees for the Northern New Jersey Boy Scouts, and a member of the Executive Women of New Jersey (www.ewnj.org), a senior level not-for-profit organization whose goal is to promote the advancement of women to high levels of business, the professions and government.  Ms. Sullivan also sits on the advisory boards for Northfork Bank and Bank of America. She has taught Remedies and Commercial Law for five years as an adjunct professor at Seton Hall University Law School.

Ms. Sullivan received her B.A., with high honors, from Rutgers University in 1984 where she was also inducted into the National Honor Society for Political Science.  She received her J.D. from Seton Hall University Law School, graduating in the top 10% of her class in 1987. During her studies at Seton Hall, Ms. Sullivan won first place in her law school's appellate advocacy competition along with an award for the Best Respondent's Brief.  She was a member of the Legislative Bureau and Journal for the Seton Hall, and was listed in "Who's Who Among American Law Students" at graduation.   Ms. Sullivan clerked for the Honorable Robert E. Tarleton of the General Equity Division of the New Jersey Superior Court.  She is admitted to practice law in New York, Florida, New Jersey and the District of Columbia and before several major federal circuit and district courts.  Ms. Sullivan is rated AV by the Martindale Hubbell peer review rating system.
