Mr. Jordan is a partner in the Commercial Litigation Department. His practice is principally devoted to complex business disputes in state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels.
While his practice is diverse, covering a wide range of issues, the subject matters most commonly involved are ownership disputes in closely held ventures or partnerships, employee restrictive covenant matters and all types of commercial contract controversies. Mr. Jordan's pro bono work has included the successful representation of two death row inmates, one in Pennsylvania and one in Alabama.
Mr. Jordan received his A.B., magna cum laude, from Loyola University in 1967 and his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame in 1970. Licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and Ohio, he is also admitted to appear before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Jordan is a member of the American Bar Association, International Association of Defense Counsel, Pennsylvania Bar Association, Philadelphia Bar Association and Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel. His community activities include service as a Director and President of Awbury Arboretum. Mr. Jordan was selected in a survey of his peers as a Pennsylvania "Super Lawyer" by Law & Politics magazine in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. In 2008, Mr. Jordan was selected for inclusion in the Corporate Counsel Edition of Super Lawyers. Mr. Jordan has been AV rated by the Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating system.
